One Sheet Wonder - 10 cards

Hello!  Thank so much for stopping by

Today I have 10 cards made from ONE piece of pattern paper.  I am a Pinterest addict and will be the first to admit.  I stumbled upon this technique somewhere along the way.  There are so many sketches available on Pinterest.  You will see it called one sheet wonder or one page wonder... both will get you great ideas.

I found in doing my one sheet wonder that using the sketch measurements on a computer screen as I worked .. worked best for me.  You could also measure out the sketch measurements on the back of your pattern paper and then cut.  Which ever way works best for you.  I really encourage you to try one out.

Here is the sketch I am using.  The link on Pinterest did not lead me to a good link.. so I apologize not being able to Thank the person properly who created this sketch.

I even did a video for YouTube that you can check out here.  Be kind.. I am just learning how to videos.  LOL  Be sure to subscribe and give me a thumbs up!  I'd greatly appreciate any support you all give.

I absolutely love how these cards turned out.  I never ever do a simple card, but all 10 are very simple with very little embellishments.  This is photo heavy.

Grateful

Hello!  Thanks so much for stopping by

I have a wonderful card to show today!  Simple and easy (which I normally don't think to do).  I love to enter the Color Throwdown Challenge weekly when I can.. So I decided to do both my first MFT sketch and color throwdown in one card.

Here is the sketch and color chart I had to work with.

I used My Favorite Things:
Blueprints 24
Grateful 4 U

The sketch challenge fit right into the blueprints I happen to have (#24).  I simply used the blueprint to create my entire card.  I decided to use the word grateful for the main part of my card.  I used brown fun foam for both grateful and the stars (which are a part of the blueprints 24).

I then stamped to have you in my life at the bottom to complete the card.

Happy Easter

Hello!  Thanks so much for stopping by.

Creating Spring cards can be so fun!  I love bright fun colors and that is what Spring has to offer.   New life.. new beginnings... which leads into my favorite SUMMER!

I started off by taking my card base and using distress inks to make my sky color.  I wasn't incredibly particular about this because I knew I'd have some layers over top.  I then took my Grassy Hills from My Favorite Things and cut two layers.  I used foam dots for my top layer to add that dimension.

I took the Nesting Flower die from Die Versions and  die cut blue.  I did two different colors because no two clouds are ever the same.  Once you have the flower cut simply take your scissors and cut in half.  You can do many different sizes clouds with the flowers.  I always try to add dimension to my cards.  The top cloud I added some foam pieces to make it raised .  Don't be afraid to add some dimension!

I then cut out the GORGEOUS Happy Easter egg die.  This die cut out is stunning.  I traced the egg on white and cut that with my Brother Scan N Cut for my layer behind the egg.   I was going to add glitter and such to the egg, but truthfully it is so beautiful I decided not to take away from the die cut.

I topped of the card with Sunny Skies die from My Favorite Things and added a few flowers from the Painted Thank you from Concord & 9th.

I hope this has inspired you to be crafty!

Look for the rainbow

Hello!  Thanks so much for stopping by

Today I want to show a water drop stamp set that looks REAL!   In this project, I used Designs by Ryn and My Favorite Things stamps/die.

I first started off by water coloring the rainbow.  My water color paper was not the best quality so I will be on the hunt for a better quality paper pad.  I used the $6 water color set I purchased at Michaels.  I love rainbows and I LOVE to use ROY G BIV .. Do you know how hard it is to find Indigo in most color sets???

After I had my rainbow water colored, I set that aside to dry.  I knew a round about size card I was looking for so I cut down the white strip for my water drops.  I stamped each water drop set in the ROY G BIV color.  These are such an amazing design.. The water drops truly look REAL.  There are some different techniques to use these. Designs by Ryn has a YouTube video on how she explains it.. Definitely look that video up!.  These are the stamps.. They are red rubber and I had to purchase the cling foam to adhere to the back.

After the water color paper was dry, I took out my dylsusions white spray and took off the sprayer and just flicked some white random.   I then took my stamp set from My Favorite Things when it rains, look for the rainbow (Rainbow Happiness is the set).  I then took RAINBOWS die from Color the Rainbow die set and cut.  I then took my spectrum noir markers and colored each letter to match the rainbow.

The white strip with water drops I mounted with foam tape.  I wanted this to be raised for dimension.    I topped off the card with a few sequins to add some flare.

I hope you LOVE this card!  It looks ahhhhh-mazing in person.
Happy Crafting!

Stacked Hearts from Simon Says Stamp

Hello!  Thanks so much for stopping by

Today I wanted to show you a card I made using the splatter technique for my background.  I took my Dylusions Paint and several card bases and splattered away in several different colors.. This is one of my favorite looks and I couldn't go wrong with several made up.  I love the Tim Holtz flicker tool for my flickering.   There is non control on where and how much goes in one place.. so know you lose control when flickering.

I decided on the pink background so I took my Stacked Heart die from Simon Says Stamp and cut pink.  I was careful not to lose my hearts from the die cut.. I wasn't sure how many I wanted to place back in the die cut.

I tried a few different backgrounds for my stacked hearts and decided on the stitched squares from My Favorite things.  I had to trim off a few hearts to make it fit perfect.

I then took the stamp set Distress Patterns from My Favorite things.  Embossing in white from Hero Arts and had the perfect strip to accent.

I used only one heart as a fill in on my die cut and then I placed one in the bottom right.  I wanted some sort of sentiment on the card, but after looking at it I thought it might ruin the beauty.  I left it be!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Go and get crafty!

DOUBLE layer Valentine shaker card!!

Hello!  Thanks so much for stopping by

Have you ever lost sleep thinking about an idea brewing in your mind??  I couldn't stop thinking about a double layer shaker card.  When I say I'm obsessed with shakers.. it's not joke.

As I was thinking about what to make my shaker from.. I instantly thought of the word art stamps from Craftin Desert Divas.  These word art stamps make the most PERFECT shaker cards.

I knew this would be my top layer so I created the shaker portion using the Pocket Pieces die from Craftin Desert Divas .  I need someone to create THICK foam LOL.. For this layer I just used foam to die cut for my height.  I quickly colored in the darling images with my Spectrum Noir and formed the top layer with some heart sequins I purchased from AliExpress.

Now to the bottom layer.  I took my double stitched dies from My Favorite Things and cut foam as well.  For my shaker cards I like height to my shakers.. I want everything to shake.. not be stuck.. I use a little of everything and some of the beads I use have too much height to them for a single layer of foam.  I cut foam for a layer of height and then I used actual foam tape for another layer.

Having a top layer to my card I figured the bottom layer needed some kind of stability to hold up that top layer.  The die I used for the top layer I cut some more foam.  When I was forming my bottom layer it ended up being backwards.. Normally I fill the window part of my shaker first.  Because I put the foam down for stability.. I had to place my shaker elements on my flat card and then lay my window over top.  I had to work slow because I didn't want my beads to roll everywhere.  I glued some sequins on the outside of my window because I for got to do so on the inside.. I actually like them on the outside better!

I then pieced it all together and super gorgeous.. it turned out!!

And that's a wrap for my double layer shaker card!  I am glad I lost sleep over it.. it turned out fabulous.

I hope this has sparked some creative juices flowing.
Happy Crafting

Snowflakes are winter's butterflies

Hello! Thanks so much for stopping by today!

I always say I live in the wrong part of the US.. I like warm and sunny weather.  Here where I reside, we are fortunate that NO accumulation has happened yet.. At least I'm thankful, LOL.

When I saw the sentiment stamp from So Suzy Stamps.. Snowflakes are winter's butterflies... I just knew I needed it.   I love butterflies and this is one way to get me through our rough winters..

Purple everything!!  That's what I feel.   So of course I went purple.  I used the Snowflake fusion cover plate from My Favorite Things.  I chose a lilac color and to have a contrasting dark purple behind.    I went back and forth as to whether or not glitter was needed to pop out a snowflake.  I tried a few and did not like the outcome, so I used the plain lilac.

The tag that I stamped and embossed my sentiment on is from Craftin Desert Diva's Pocket Pieces.  This set is so versatile and be used in so many different ways.  The stitched look is a look I LOVE!

I took some twine and wrapped it around that tag to give it a different look.  The snowflakes I used are shiny and give a little flare to the card.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I hope that if you dislike snow where you live, that you too can see it through different eyes.. Butterflies
